The Town-Wide Cross Country Run brings together participating students in Grades 3-6 from all 5 elementary schools to promote health, wellness, physical fitness, and physical activity in an organized and developmentally appropriate activity that reinforces student learning in Physical Education.

Jog-a-thon
Friday, October 4th, 2019 (Rain Date: Friday, October 11th)
The Jog-A-Thon promotes wellness through physical activity and raises money to fund enrichment programs at Hanmer. Students run, jog, or walk outside for 30 minutes, in an effort to complete as many laps as possible. With the help of parent volunteers, sponsors, and donations, this event is always a success!

Hip-Hop at Hanmer Week
April 19th-25th, 2017
Hip-Hop Week brings students from each grade level together to learn about the history of different dances and the importance of being physically active and eating healthy. Students will engage in developmentally appropriate activities, will learn exciting dance moves, and will perform for the whole school at the end of the week!

A.C.E.S. (All Children Exercising Simultaneously)

May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month. To celebrate it, children throughout the country will exercise at the same time in the A.C.E.S. Project. This event emphasizes the importance of physical activity in the pursuit of health and happiness. We hope our students will realize the value of incorporating exercise and sports into their daily lives.

Field Day brings the community and the school together to support a healthy and active lifestyle. It is a day full of physical activities, showcasing some of the many movements, skills, activities, problem solving techniques, and cooperative games that the students have learned throughout the year. All of these activities are designed to keep the students moving and thinking. All parents are invited to attend.
